Borneobius curvipes Marshall, 1956: 101–102 View in CoL . Type locality: Borneo, Kudat.

Description. Lectotype ( Fig. 12a View FIGURE 12 ). Pronotum plus elytron 3.13 mm. Integument of body black; legs ferruginous; largely covered with brown and green scales; scaling covering disc of pronotum brown; sides green with brown longitudinal band at middle; elytra dorsally largely brown with irregular green patches; sides green except brown patch below humeri. Eyes weakly asymmetrically convex, slightly drawn posteriad. Rostrum ca. as long as wide [0.98 X], sides subparallel; dorsum with distinct median furrow. Pronotum 1.06 X longer than wide. Elytra 1.21 X as long as wide; dorsally convex; intervals with rows of erect, clavate scales, most of them brown. Legs. Profemur and mesofemur ventrally at middle with patch of dense overlapping scales. Genitalia. Penis ( Fig. 12b View FIGURE 12 ) with sides of body subparallel, apex rounded. Apodeme 2.86 X as long as body of penis.

Material examined. Type specimens. Lectotype, by present designation, male: MALAYSIA, Sabah: Kudat , 7 th Sept. 1927; condition: left antennal funicle, tarsus of right midleg, and tarsus of left hind leg broken and missing; formerly pinned through right elytron; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC4086 View Materials (DNA degraded) ( BMNH) . Paralectotype, female, DNA extraction ARC4085 View Materials (GenBank # OR557449) , same data as lectotype except 5 th Sept. 1927 ( BMNH) .

Notes. The original description was based on four specimens. A male and a female syntype were examined; both differ in body shape, coloration of scaling, and shape of erect elytral scales. Presumably , they represent different species. A lectotype is designated to ensure stability of nomenclature. A second undescribed species from Sabah is at hand .
