Description. Lectotype ( Fig. 38a View FIGURE 38 ). Length. Pronotum plus elytron 8.70 mm. Integument black, partly covered with scattered scales; small recumbent ovate white to greyish scales and interspersed subrecumbent bristles; meso- and metathorax laterally densely squamose. Head with vertex microreticulate, punctate-rugose, with scattered scales. Rostrum ca. as long as wide (1.05 X), sides subparallel; dorsum in basal half narrow, with furrows along midline. Pronotum ca. as long as wide (1.03 X); dorsally weakly flattened; granulate-scabrous. Elytra 1.40 X as long as wide; dorsally flattened, irregularly punctate-granulate; along humeri with bands of denser, overlapping scales; above declivity with darker transverse band of larger glabrous granules; declivity with erect bristles. Abdomen. Ventrites 3–5 with dense pubescence of soft erect hairs. Genitalia. Penis ( Fig. 38b View FIGURE 38 ) with sides of body subparallel, apex rounded. Body containing endophallic sclerite with curved, hook-shaped apex. Apodeme 1.9 X as long as body of penis. Intraspecific variation. Length. Pronotum plus elytron 5.70–8.70 mm.

Material examined. Type specimens. Male, lectotype by present designation: INDONESIA, Bali: Gn. Bratan, 1200–2000 m, 1913, E. Stresemann; labels ( Fig. 38c View FIGURE 38 ); condition: fair; formerly pinned through right elytron; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC5048 View Materials (sequencing failed) ( SMTD) . Paralectotypes: 1 ex, same data as lectotype ( SMTD) ; 3 exx, C-Bali, Danau Bratan, ca. 800 m, 1913, E. Stresemann ( SMTD) ; 1 ex, N-Bali, Buleleng, 1913, E. Stresemann ( SMTD) . Other material examined: INDONESIA, Bali: 1 ex, E-Bali, Kintamani, E. Stresemann ( SMTD); ARC3543 View Materials ( GenBank # LN866362), C-Bali, Bedugul, Gn. Notes. Heller (1914) based the original description on an unknown number of specimens; he did not designate a holotype. Six specimens fitting his description were found at SMTD. The original description cites the localities Gn. Bratan, Lake Bratan , and Buleleng. A lectotype is designated to ensure stability of nomenclature .
