Aleuropleurocelus laingi Drews & Sampson, 1956: 282 . Holotype. USA: California, Orange County, Trabuco Canyon , 30.x.1953, E. A. Drews, on Arctostaphylos sp ; location of types currently not known.

Distribution: Nearctic: USA (California); Neotropica l: Mexico.

Host: Ericaceae : Arctostaphylos sp. ; Lamiaceae : Salvia apiana .

Comment: According to Drews & Sampson (1956), the holotype of this species was deposited in the authors’ collection. Some other species described by these authors were deposited in the CAS collection. Carapia-Ruíz (2020a) reported the species from Mexico on Salvia apiana .
