Zelandalbia acuta Cook, 1991

( Fig. 22A–C View FIGURE 22 A – C )

Material examined. New Zealand, South Island: Selwyn River near Scotts, 07.vi.2004, 0/1/0 (mounted); Selwyn River near Gillanders, 22.x.2004, 0/0/1.

Remarks. The specimens from the Selwyn river fit the description given by Cook (1991) for Z. acuta except for the more slender capitular rostrum ( Fig. 22C View FIGURE 22 A – C ) and palp segments ( Fig. 22B View FIGURE 22 A – C ). The variability of further specimens needs to be examined to clarify the taxonomy. Only the female sex of this species is known.

Distribution. New Zealand; previously reported from driven wells in the vicinity of Nelson, South Island ( Cook 1991).
