Chorology.

Stenus pieperi was described from Alamdeh, West Mazandaran ( Puthz 1983: 353). Our recent records further east, which are the first after the description, indicate that the species is endemic to the Hyrcanian forest zone of the Elburz Mountains from about 50°30'E eastwards to about 53°10'E (Fig. 20 View Figures 19–24 )
