Bathymetric distribution: 16–1235 m —WBD.
Geographical distribution: USA (Florida) to Brazil (AP to PE, SP; FN) and Sta. Helena Island—WGD.
Remarks: This species was originally recorded from Brazil as Ervilia subcancellata E. A. Smith, 1885, which was later considered a synonym of E. nitens (Rooij–Schuiling, 1972).
