Generitype of Verbascum Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 132. 1929).

Current name: Verbascum thapsus L. ( Scrophulariaceae ).

Note: Although Huber-Morath did not explicitly cite the sheet number of 242.1 (LINN), it is the only sheet there associated with this name and is accepted here as the lectotype.
