scientific name

Bryoria chalybeiformis (L.) Brodo & D. Hawksw.
status

Lichen chalybeiformis Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 2: 1155. 1753, nom. cons.

"Habitat in Europa supra rupes & sepimenta." RCN: 8252.

Conserved type ( Jørgensen & al. in Taxon 43: 650. 1994): Herb. Linn. No. 1273.291 ( LINN) .

Current name: Bryoria chalybeiformis (L.) Brodo & D. Hawksw. ( Parmeliaceae).

Note: See discussion by Jørgensen & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 290, f 15. 1994). They accepted that Howe (in Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 39: 201. 1912) typified the name on 1273.290 (LINN), but as this is a specimen of B. fuscescens (Gyeln.) Brodo & D. Hawksw. , they successfully proposed the name for conservation with a conserved type.
