Origin. Neotropical.

Palearctic Distribution. France, Spain, Saudi Arabia (Cate 2007); Portugal ( Zapata de la Vega et al. 2010); Italy ( Platia et al. 2020).

IDENTIFICATION KEY TO AGRYPNINAE : OOPHORINI IN ITALY

Agrypninae can be recognized among Elateridae by the presence of basal setae on the claws (with the exception of Danosoma Thomson, 1859 ).

Oophorini are characterized by the pronotosternal sutures closed or slightly impressed anteriorly.
