Euryalus barbarus K. Andersen and Matschie , Sitzb. Ges. Naturf. Freunde Berlin, p. 79, 1904. Tangiers , Morocco .
Rhinolophus algirus Loche , Exploration Sci. de I'Algerie, Zool., Mammif^res, p. 83, 1867. " Jardin Marengo ," Algeria .
This name is not certainly identifiable but may possibly prove to supersede barbarus if the types can be found. This, too, is probably the bat intended by Heim de Balsac in recording Rhinolophus meyeli {= mehelyi) from Laghouat, Algeria, Suppl..in Bull. Biol, de France et de Belgique, Paris, 21: 320, 1936).
Range: Coastwise from Tangiers to Tunis.
