Type Locality: Brazil, Bahia.
Vernacular Names: Mouse-tailed Atlantic Spiny-rat.
Synonyms: Trinomys cinnamomeus (Lichtenstein 1830) ; Trinomys leptosoma ( Brants 1827) .
Distribution: Bahia ( Brazil).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Proechimys myosuros .
Discussion: This taxon is only tentatively placed in Trinomys because the teeth remain undescribed. Thomas (1921 a) synonymized it with setosus , whereas Moojen (1948) concluded that its affinities were with albispinus .
