Distribution. Nearctic, recorded from A/S ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). Canada: AB, BC, NB, NF, NS, NT, ON, QC, SK, YT. USA: AK, AZ, CO, MA, ME, MN, NH (NSR), NY, VA, WA.

Collection and Habitat data. Habitat for NH specimen not indicated; collecting date in July. In AK captured in various coniferous forests, some clearcut, and shrubby habitats such as rose and willow ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). In Canada recorded from various hardwood and coniferous forests ( Webster et al. 2009). Adults found under bark of conifers: under bark of fire-killed red pine under bark of red spruce infested with D. rufipennis and P. rufipennis (NB) , in bark of log pile of Pinus contorta ; in galleries of Dendroctonus ponderosae and Ips pini (AB) ; collected in bark of Pinus contorta Dougl. ex Loud. (BC) ( Webster et al. 2009, Majka et al. 2011, Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
