Current name: Galactia volubilis (L.) Britton ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Torrey & Gray (Fl. N. Amer. 1: 365, 1840) stated that the name was "founded upon" Dillenius, Hort. Eltham.: t. 143, f. 170 (1732) but this is not accepted as equivalent to the use of “type”.
