Diagnosis. Medium-sized species ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Forewing 27 mm, hind wing 25 mm. Body dorsal coloration dark brown with pale markings, ventral coloration yellow. Mesonotum unspotted ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Tarsomeres 3 and 4 black ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Tibial spurs curved apically, longer than first tarsomere. Last segment of labial palp spindle-like ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ).

Description (Based on 1 male). Head ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Labrum, clypeus and frons yellow. Anterior tentorial pit small, narrow and shallow. Vertex raised, with dark marking above antennae and irregular brown markings on dorsal surface. Last labial palp segment oval-shaped with a small oval palpimacula ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ).

Thorax ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Notum dark and light brown. Mesonotum without well-defined dark spots.

Legs. Fore and middle legs with femora pale; tibia pale with light brown band proximally and medially, dark brown apically; tibial spurs extending beyond tarsomere 2. Hind legs more slender than fore and mid legs ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), pale with apices of femora black; tibial spurs as long as tarsomeres 1+2. In all legs tarsomeres 1, 2, 5 pale, 3, 4 dark and femora and tibiae with erect stout white setae.

Wings. Apices sub-acute. Forewing main longitudinal veins with alternating bands of white and very pale brown. Membrane hyaline with very pale suffused spots along CuA1. Pterostigma unconspicuous. Six presectoral crossveins. Hind wings veins pale. Membrane hyaline. Five presectoral crossveins.

Abdomen. Tergite 1 pale brown with erect thin white setae. Tergite 2 mainly dark brown with anterior margin bordered with light brown. Remainder of abdomen with alternating pale and dark brown bands; the anterior pale area with dark markings and two X-shaped thin lines. All sternites yellow.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 61 – 67 ). Gonarcus narrow, approximately triangular, with posterior edge raised. Parameres almost flat without projection, only upper part of inner edge slightly raised forward. Hypandrium internum with a stout short process ( Fig.77 View FIGURES 74 – 80. 74 – 76 ).

Female and larva unknown.

Material examined. Holotype ♂, BURKINA FASO, W Regional Park, Mékrou river [11.92404 2.39472], 03.iv.2003, J. Bouyer leg.

Etymology. Dedicated to our colleague Jérémy Boyer (CIRAD) who collected the specimen.
