Type Locality: None given, unknown.

Vernacular Names: Clymene Dolphin.

Synonyms: Stenella metis ( Gray 1846) ; Stenella normalis (Gray 1866) .

Distribution: Atlantic Ocean including the Gulf of Mexico: warm-temperate to tropical waters.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Data Deficient.

Discussion: Recognized by Hershkovitz (1966 a), but not by Mitchell (1975 a) who included it in longirostris . See Perrin et al. (1981) for redescription.
