Type Locality: Brazil, Rio Grande do Norte, 100 mi. (161 km) off Cape Sao Roque.
Vernacular Names: Peale's Free-tailed Bat.
Synonyms: Nyctinomops similis Sanborn 1941 .
Distribution: Sonora and Tamaulipas ( Mexico) to Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
