Material examined. Holotype female, Arusha, Tanzania, March 24, 1987, E. Yousef ( El-Banhawy & Abou-Awad, 1989). Kenya, 4 females, Marigat Kabarnet Road, Rift Valley , altitude 1791 m, March 2005; 1 female, Wyaundo Island , altitude 1340 m, December 7, 2005; 2 females, Ruma National Park , altitude 1400 m, December 4, 2005; 11 females, Mfangano Island , altitude 1300 m, December 10, 2005; 1 female, Rusinga Island , Nyanza Province, altitude 1350m, December 10, 2005 (El-Banhawy). The male is unknown.

Female: Dorsal shield imbricate, 275 long, 140 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 23, j3 27, j4, j5 3, j6 5, J5 10, z2 22, z3 32, z4 14, z5 6, Z4 80, Z5 60, s4 65, s6 76, r3 32, JV5 37. Setae j1, j3, z2, z3, z4, s4, s6 stout, strongly serrated and arising from tubercles, remaining setae short, minute. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield faint, distances between St I-St III 52, St II- St II 52, St IV free on integument. Genital shield 70 wide. Ventri-anal shield 80 long, 35 wide (L/W ratio 2.3: 1), with a pair of tiny pre-anal pores near margin and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). A pair of metapodal platelets, a thin longitudinal sigillar sclerite and three pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Chelicera indiscernible. Spermatheca calyx bell-shaped, 10 long, atrium 2 long. Macrosetae short and blunt, Sge IV 12, Sti IV 16; 18, St IV 42; 37. Chaetotaxy: genu II 2, 2/0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1, 2/0, 2/0, 1.
