Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Pate Island, Coast Province , July 20, 2005 ; 1 female, Kisumu, Nyanza Province December 6, 2006 (El-Banhawy).

Female: Dorsal shield reticulated, 275 long, 150 wide. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 16, j3 21, j4, j5 14, j6 18, J2 21, J5 9, z2 17, z3 21, z4 23, z5 16, Z4 27, Z5 40, s4 23, s6, S2 25, S4 24, S5 20, r3, R1 18, JV5 25. Seta J 5 smooth, remaining setae serrated. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield, distances between St I-St III 60 , St II-St II 56 , St III off shield, St IV free on integument. Genital shield 88 wide. Ventri-anal shield 92 long, 60 wide (L/W ratio 1.5: 1), with a pair of elliptical pre-anal pores, and four pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, JV3, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with three teeth, movable digit with three teeth. Spermatheca calyx saccular, slightly flared distally, 14 long, 2 wide, near atrium, 5 wide near vesicle, atrium 3 long. Macroseta short and blunt, St IV 16 . Chaetotaxy : genu II : 2, 2/0, 2/1, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.

Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Thika, Kenya, January 3, 1973 ( Swirski &Ragusa, 1978). This species has also been reported from Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda ( Moraes et al., 2004).
