Material examined. Kenya, 2 females, Mt . Kenya, Meru Forest Station, altitude 1775 m, July 15, 2004; 1 male, Marigat Kabernet Rd, altitude 1791 m, March 2005; 1 female, Nyahururu (Thompson Falls), altitude 2500 m, May 6, 2006; 3 females, Kakamega rain forest, altitude 1620m, July 23, 2006; 1 female, Wyaundo Island , altitude 1370 m, December 2005; 1 female, Mfangano Island , Nyanza Province , altitude 1310 m, December 10, 2005 (El-Banhawy) .

Female: Dorsal shield reticulated, 290 long, 150 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 22, j3 46, j4 16, j5 41, j6 46, J2 60, J5 9, z2 16, z3 58, z4 18, z5 19, Z4 60, Z5 67, s4, s6 62, S2, S4 62, r3, R1 25, JV5 55. Dorsal setae serrated, j1, J5, z5 smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 55, St II-St II 55, St IV on platelets. Genital shield 60 wide. Ventri-anal shield striated, 106 long, 63 wide, with a pair of elliptical pre-anal pores and four pairs of preanal setae (JV1, JV2, JV3, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with four teeth, movable digit with three teeth. Spermatheca calyx saccular, 23 long, 3.5–4.5 wide, atrium conspicuous. Macroseta sharp pointed, St IV 32. Chaetotaxy: genu II 2, 2/0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1, 2/1, 2/0, 1.

Male: Chaetotaxy of dorsal shield as in female. Ventri-anal shield striated, 135 long, 98 wide, with a pair of elliptical pre-anal pores and four pairs of pre-anal setae. Spermatodactyl L-shaped, shaft 16 long.

Remarks. The female holotype was collected from DRC, Lwiro, May 18, 1955 and the male paratype from Astrida, Rwanda, May 22, 1955, E. W. Baker ( Pritchard & Baker, 1962). This species has also been recorded from Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda (Moreas et al., 2004).
