Type species: Typhlodromus (Typhlodromopsis) simplicissimus De Leon, 1959 Diagnosis. Dorsal setae smooth but setae Z4 and Z5 often stout and serrated. Sternal shield with posterior margin straight or concave, without posterior projection. Ventri-anal shield usually pentagonal with three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2) arranged in a triangular pattern, and with a pair of either small or prominent pores. Peritreme reaching level of j1. Usually with three teeth. Macrosetae: Ge II, Ge III and often GeI with seven setae. Seta z2 shorter than distance to seta z4, seta z4 usually shorter than distance to seta s4 ( Chant & McMurtry, 2005b) .
