Material examined. Kenya, 3 females, Lamu Island ; 1 female, Manda Island , on mangrove ; 1 female, Wasini Island ; 3 females, Funzi Island ; 2 females, Mukaka Forest, Mombasa, Coast Province, July 2005 ( El-Banhawy ) .

Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 322 long, 225 wide, with at least six pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 35, j3 50, j4, j5, j6, J2, J5 4–6, z2, z4, z5, Z1 6–8, Z4, 92, Z5 255, s4 90, S2, S4, S5, 8 –10, r3, R1 10, JV5, 60. Setae Z 4, Z5 serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 62 , St II-St II 69 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 70 wide. Ventri-anal shield vase-shaped, constricted laterally posterior to JV2, 110 long, 41 wide at level of ZV2, 65 at level of anus, with a pair of elliptical pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with ten teeth, movable digit with three teeth. Spermatheca calyx tubular, parallel-sided, 25 long, 3 wide, atrium differentiated and as wide as calyx. Macrosetae sharp tip distally, Sge II 30 , Sge III 37 , Sti III 30 , Sge IV 102 , Sti IV 80 , St IV 50 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0-2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1-2/0, 1.

Remarks. The female holotype and male paratype were collected from Key Largo Florida USA, December1955 ( Muma, 1955). This species has a worldwide distribution and has been reported from several African countries ( Zannou et al., 2007).
