Material examined. Holotype ♀, Japan: Honshu, Iwate, Mt Hiyachine , 1000m, 25.vii.1989, Makihara & Sharkey ( AEIC).

Diagnosis. Female. Creamy white patches on head below and between antennal sockets, clypeus, inner orbits

on ventral third, malar space and gena ventrally, leaving narrow black area dorsal to upper clypeus margin and very narrow vertical black line down centre of face (illustrated in Araujo et al. 2018); antenna with scape and pedicel ventrally white. Most of mesosoma and metasoma black, pronotum white on dorsal and ventral posterior corners, metasoma becoming paler brown posteriorly, with pale reddish markings on posterior edges of tergites and hypopygium. First tergite granulate anteriorly, striate posteriorly.
