Notes

Baker (1993: 207) wrote the following:

“A ♀ in the UMO type collection, labelled ‘Aru’ [white disc] and ‘ Megachile insularis Smith’ [blue paper, Smith], is the HOLOTYPE of this species and it has now been labelled accordingly. [Aru, most probably at Wanumbai (central Kobroör), March-May 1857 (Wallace).]”.
