Type species: Homaloxestis endocma Meyrick, 1910 .

The genus Homaloxestis comprises about 50 described species. Of these, four species, Homaloxestis cholopis (Meyrick, 1906) , H. lophophora Janse, 1954, H. subpallida Meyrick, 1931 and H. rawlinsi Park, 2018 are known from the Afrotropical Region.
