Bryothinusa neoguineensis Pace 2000:115–116 [original description, illustrated]: 115 [in key for identification of species of Bryothinusa of New Guinea].

Distribution. Papua New Guinea, Madang, Laig Island ( Pace 2000). (This may be the same locality as ‘‘Laing Island’’ cited by Haghebaert 1995. As noted in the discussion of B. grootaerti , I have been unable to locate a ‘‘Laing Island’’ in Papua New Guinea near Madang. However, there is a ‘‘Long Island’’ near Madang; the possibility that both ‘‘Laig Island’’ and ‘‘Laing Island’’ actually refer to ‘‘Long Island’’ needs further investigation. J.S.A.)
