D i s t r i b u t i o n: China: Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Island of Bourbon, French islands, Seychelles Islands, Island of Reunion, Philippines, New Caledonia, Hawaii, Mauritius, Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Southern Arabia, Bangladesh, Island of St. Helena, Tanzania, Kenya, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam: Cuc Phuong National Park ( NGUYEN et al. 2007).
There is very enigmatic thing in paper of NGUYEN et al. (2007) that they recorded this species belonging to the subfamily Ammophilinae , but in fact Ampulex compressa belongs to the subfamily Ampulicinae .
