Remarks.
Junior homonym of Melanopsis buccinoidea minor Grateloup, 1838 (see Note 1). Blanckenhorn (1897) indicated himself as author of the taxon, but he clearly cited the record by Bourguignat (1884) in the synonymy list. Wenz (1929) introduced Melanopsis blanckenhorni as replacement name.
