Distribution Argentina, Brazil (Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo) (Borowiec & Świętojańska, 2024). New species to Ceará State, Brazil.
Material examined. BRAZIL: Ceará, Serra do Baturité, Guaramiranga , RPPN Sítio Lagoa , 30.XI–07.XII.2021, M. L. Monné, leg., 1 spec. ( MNRJ: MNRJ-ENT7 45719); 1 spec., ( MHNC: MNRJ-ENT7 45744).
Collecting method. Malaise trap.
Species diagnosis. This species is unique among the genus Polychalca Chevrolat, 1836 due to its large emerald green and strongly convex body, and densely coarsely punctate elytra.
