( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 9–17 )

Distribution. Brazil (Bahia, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina) (Borowiec & Świętojańska 2024). New species to Ceará State, Brazil.

New record. BRAZIL: Ceará, Serra do Baturité , Guaramiranga, RPPN Sítio Lagoa, 30.XI–07.XII.2021, M. L. Monné leg., 1 spec. ( MNRJ: MNRJ-ENT7 45737) .

Collecting method. Malaise trap.

Species diagnosis. This species is recognized by the brown last four antennomeres, ellipsoidal pronotum, humeral angles slightly extending beyond lateral angles of pronotum, rugose surface of the elytral disc (except middle regions), and dark, with humeral spots on explanate margin of elytra and two spots close to the elytral apex.

The species is characterized by dorsum largely dark colored with humeral and posterolateral spot on explanate margin on elytra in combination with rugose structure of elytra, and dark coloration of pronotal disc extending also over explanate margin. There are several similar species differing mainly in color pattern only: M. hypocrita (Boheman, 1855) and M. severa (Boheman, 1855) differ in absence of posterolateral spots on explanate margin of elytra while M. anxia (Boheman, 1855) has both marginal spot connected and concealing inside pale spot and yellow colored scutellum (black in M. stigmatica ). All species are restricted to Eastern Brazil.
