NOTE

Coenonympha arcania macromma Turati & Verity, 1911 View in CoL (Type locality:Terme di Valdieri) has been treated as having species rank by Schmitt & Besold (2010). For the moment we prefer to maintain its more traditional treatment under C. darwiniana View in CoL , pending the results of further analyses.
