Type locality: Djem-Djem Forest , Ethiopia

Redescription of adult ( Plate 2). Wingspan 15–22 mm. Head with erect hairs, whitish to pale fuscous; labial palpus slender, pale brown; antenna with small scape, dark fuscous, remainder whitish grey with faint annulation. Thorax and tegula pale grey-brown with two pairs of blackish spots. Forewing with apex pointed, ground colour pale brownish grey slightly streaky; basal area above fold to costa dark brown, a costal row of elongate black dots along basal half of wing, a further row of dots subcostally, a third partial row just above fold, a fourth row subdorsally; sometimes a very oblique dark fuscous fascia from just above dorsum to costa; terminal fringe grey; underside of forewing with a very narrow white edge for most of its length; legs pale fuscous with dark suffusion. Hindwing grey. Abdomen pale grey, darker ventrally; sternums with minute spines but without microtrichia.

Male genitalia ( Plate 9). Socius narrow and slightly tapered; valva with costa almost straight, pronounced sclerotisation on middle of dorsum, saccus straight with bulbous end. Aedeagus 2.5 x length of valva, a cornutus almost ⅔ of its length.

Female genitalia ( Plate 19 View PLATE 19 ). Lamella postvaginalis lobes widely separated, ostium a small rounded funnel, ductus bursae with a spiculate band along most of its length; corpus bursae without signum, at least three times length of ductus bursae.

Diagnosis. This species is distinguished from other narrow winged species by the oblique antemedian fascia on the forewing.

Biology. Not known. Adults taken in every month except February and August.

Distribution. Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Malawi.

Type material. Holotype ♂ Abyssinnie , Djem-Djem Forest i. v.1926 & JFGC ( NHMUK).
