V.: Mittleres und südliches Europa (KARSHOLT & RAZOWSKI 1996), südliche temperate Zonen über Subtropen bis Tropen, kosmopolitisch ( ROBINSON et al. 1994).
Ö/B.: Von St. Helena nach WOLLASTON (1879) bzw. MELLISS (1875) unbekannt. Die Larve lebt in den Hülsen von Fabaceae und tritt dort manchmal schädlich auf. Eine Einschleppung ist wahrscheinlich.
