Anthelephila ionica (LaFerté-Sénectère, 1849)
Remarks. Species distributed and relatively common in the Eastern Mediterranean, ranging southwards as far as Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Yemen ( CHANDLER et al. 2008). I am not aware of any published records, except for those from Saudi Arabia by UHMANN (1998), and I have not seen any specimens from these three countries. Uhmann’s record from Hakimah ( UHMANN 1998), which is located not far from border with Yemen, may belong to the externally similar A. anceyi rathjensi , and needs verification.
