Comparative remarks. This easily recognizable species differs from all other Levantine Lacon species by its distinctly shiny body surface ( Figs 22, 24 View FIGURES 22–30 ), sparsely covered with thin, short, greyish-light brown setae ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 22–30 ), with large deep punctures of equal size ( Figs 26–28 View FIGURES 22–30 ), and with short antennae in both sexes ( Figs 22–25 View FIGURES 22–30 ).

Diagnostic characters. Holotype, male ( Figs 22, 23, 26, 28, 29 View FIGURES 22–30 ). Body 10.0 mm long and 3.1 mm wide. Body shiny, dark reddish brown, center of scutellar shield and posterior angles slightly lighter, with antennae and legs ferruginous; covered with greyish-light brown setae, all rather short and thin.Antenna short, barely surpassing half of pronotal length. Antennomere III 1.15 times as long as antennomere IV, median antennomeres serrate, about 1.15 times as wide as long, serrations wide, rounded.Pronotum glabrous,1.05 times as long as wide, widest at middle, sides widely rounded, with posterior angles slightly divergent, disk densely covered with large deep punctures, intervals between punctures usually 0.5 times as a diameter of puncture. Scutellar shield about 1.4 times as long as wide, with anterior margin slightly concave, sides rather deeply roundly emarginate. Elytra 2.05 as long as wide, and 2.1 times as long as pronotum, with punctures of equal size. Aedeagus with median lobe almost reaching apices of parameres; paramere apically narrowly rounded; apical lobe rather short, with outer margin more or less straight; subapical hook distinct.

Female ( Figs 24, 25, 27, 30 View FIGURES 22–30 ). Body 8.8–13.0 mm long and 2.8–4.2 mm wide. Habitus very similar to male. Antenna similar in length as in male, barely reaching half of pronotal length; median antennomeres less serrated, about as long as wide. Pronotum relatively wider, 1.05 times as long as wide, widest at posterior 2/3, sides equally rounded, posterior angles slightly divergent. Elytra combined 2.1–2.3 times as long as wide, about 2.1–2.3 times as long as pronotum. Large sclerite of bursa copulatrix as in Fig. 30 View FIGURES 22–30 .

Immature stages unknown.
