Divellepidosis quadridens ( Spungis, 1981)

Described originally from Latvia ( Spungis 1981), Divellepidosis quadridens is shown here to occur in southeast Sweden. In comparison with other Divellepidosis (see Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2013) D. quadridens is somewhat larger and more strongly sclerotized. Male genitalic structures characteristic of this species are the slender, pointed gonostyli with two apical teeth; the gonocoxites lacking both gonocoxal processes and setose protuberances (which are typically found in Divellepidosis , see Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2013); and the rigid, parallel-sided tegmen with pointed apex ( Spungis 1981: fig. 3.2, as a Porricondyla ).

Previous distribution. Latvia. Occurrence in Sweden: Småland, Öland.

Specimens studied. SWEDEN: 2 males (CEC276–277), Småland, Nybro, Bäckebo, Grytsjön NR, tall forest of conifers and aspen, 19 June–16 July 2014, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof; male (CEC278), Öland, Mörbylånga, Stora Dalby forest NR, mixed deciduous forest with much dead ash , 9 July–8 Aug. 2015, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof.
