Neohydatothrips amygdali Minaei, 2016: 371

This species was described from Iran where it breeds on leaves of Amygdalus scoparia ( Minaei 2016) but is also known from Saudi Arabia from Acacia spp. It is the only member of Neohydatothrips that is known to have only one pair of discal setae on tergite IX. All other species in this genus have 2–3 pairs of discal setae on tergite IX ( Lima & Mound 2016b).
