Taeniothrips (Tenothrips) Bhatti, 1967: 18 .
There are 20 species placed in this genus, mostly from the Mediterranean area but with some only from North America (ThripsWiki 2023). In Arabian Peninsula, T. frici View in CoL is known from UAE (zur Strassen & van Harten 2008) and is new to Saudi Arabia. The members of this genus may be confused with Taeniothrips View in CoL , however, Tenothrips View in CoL always have three pairs of ocellar setae and abdominal tergite VIII without posteromarginal comb medially in contrast to two pairs in Taeniothrips View in CoL and and abdominal tergite VIII without posteromarginal comb complete ( Mound & Tree 2020).
