Scolothrips Hinds, 1902: 157 View in CoL .

This genus comprises 16 species, all from the temperate regions of the world ( Mound et al. 2022). Three species, S. rhagebianus View in CoL , S. brevipilis View in CoL and S. longicornis View in CoL are known from Arabian Peninsula ( Yemen) (zur Strassen & van Harten 2006), and in Saudi Arabia four species are here recorded for the first time. Scolothrips View in CoL members can be distinguished easily from other genera by the exceptionally long six pairs of pronotal setae and the equally long ocellar pair III.
