Type Locality: Uganda, Toro.
Vernacular Names: Duke of Abruzzi's Free-tailed Bat.
Synonyms: Chaerephon cyclotis Brosset 1966 .
Distribution: Ghana, Gabon, Dem. Rep. Congo, Uganda. Koopman (1993) listed "perhaps Ethiopia " in the range for this species, but there are no substantiated records.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: plicatus species group.
