Tropanisopodus antonkozlovi View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs 8–10; 12 View FIGURES 8–16. 8–10 )

Description. Male. Integument mostly dark brown, almost black; scape, pedicel and antennomere III dark brown (slightly dark reddish brown on some areas depending on light intensity); antennomere IV dark reddish brown ex- cept dark brown apex; posterior sixth of elytra irregularly maculate with yellowish brown; femoral peduncle dark reddish brown; abdominal ventrites I–IV with narrow reddish-brown band posteriorly.

Head. Frons very finely, densely punctate, interspersed with coarser punctures; with wide, oblique whitish pubescent band on each side, from clypeus to base of antennal tubercles, partially obscuring integument; remaining surface with light yellowish-brown pubescence, lighter toward central area, especially near clypeus. Area between antennal tubercles with whitish pubescence not obscuring integument, slightly yellowish laterally. Central fovea between upper eye lobes deep, distinctly inserted below crest of area between antennal tubercles projected backward centrally. Vertex finely punctate close to eyes, very finely, sparsely punctate on remaining surface between eyes, smooth toward prothoracic margin; with pale yellow pubescence between upper eye lobes (longer and denser close to eyes), shorter, light yellowish brown on remaining surface, except nearly glabrous posterocentral area, and narrow central band between eyes. Area behind upper eye lobes finely punctate close to eye, smooth on remaining surface; superior area with pale yellow pubescence close to eye, more yellowish brown toward prothorax. Inferior area behind upper eye lobes and area behind lower eye lobes with dense, moderately short, pale-yellow pubescent band close to eye, projected backward behind upper eye lobe; with whitish pubescence close to pale yellow band behind inferior side of lower eye lobe; with slightly conspicuous yellowish-white pubescence on central area behind lobes, remaining surface, behind lower eye lobe, glabrous. Genae with whitish pubescence not obscuring integument, slightly yellowish toward superior area, except glabrous narrow distal area. Antennal tubercles with sculpturing as on frons; with whitish pubescence anteriorly and posteriorly, light yellowish brown centrally. Median groove distinct from clypeus to area between antennal tubercles. Postclypeus with whitish pubescence close to frons, not obscuring integument, and pale yellow, denser, close to anteclypeus. Labrum coplanar with anteclypeus, densely micropunctate, with whitish pubescence on posterior half (golden laterally), gradually inclined, nearly smooth and glabrous on anterior half, except golden pubescent fringe at distal margin. Gulamentum smooth, glabrous on wide posterior area, elevated, with short, moderately sparse whitish setae on narrow anterior area. Distance between upper eye lobes 0.35 times length of scape; in frontal view, distance between lower eye lobes 0.62 times length of scape. Antennae (missing antennomeres IV–XI in left antenna; missing antennomeres V–XI in right antenna) 0.9 times elytral length, slightly surpassing midlength of elytra. Scape with whitish pubescence partially obscuring integument, more yellowish on some areas, brownish close to apex, but not obscuring nearly all moderately coarse punctures. Antennomeres with whitish pubescence not obscuring integument; with a few short, erect, thick, dark se- tae ventrally. Antennal formula (ratio) based on length of antennomere III: scape = 0.85; pedicel = 0.10; IV = 0.81.

Thorax. Lateral tubercle of prothorax wide, nearly rounded. Pronotum with two longitudinal tubercles laterally, from posterior to anterior quarter, convergent forward, distinctly elevated, especially anteriorly; with another narrow, elongate (carina-shaped) tubercle centrally, from posterior to anterior quarter; coarsely, deeply, moderately abundantly punctate except on tubercles; wide central area with whitish pubescence not obscuring integument, sparser centrally, except anterior and posterior areas of lateral tubercles with yellowish-brown pubescence; sides with dense pale-yellow pubescence obscuring integument, less so on posterior area of lateral tubercles of prothorax; anterior margin sinuous, distinctly projected forward on wide central area; posterior margin nearly straight. Sides of prothorax coarsely, deeply, moderately abundantly punctate; with pale-yellow pubescence obscuring integument, white close to anterior margin, and gradually whiter toward prosternum. Ventral surface of thorax with grayishwhite pubescence not obscuring integument, yellower near margins of metaventrite. Narrowest area of prosternal process as wide as 1/4 of procoxal cavity; narrowest area of mesoventral process as wide as 1/4 of mesocoxal cav- ity. Scutellum with yellowish-brown pubescence not obscuring integument, with short grayish-white pubescent fringe along margins. Elytra. Moderately coarsely, abundantly punctate throughout; with slight distinct centrobasal carina at anterior fifth, another from near apex of anterior third to about posterior fifth; apices distinctly narrowed, distal margin rounded, narrowly truncate close to sutural angle. Elytral pubescence as follows: dense pale-yellow pubescence anteriorly with posterior margin of this pubescence irregular, not reaching scutellum; dark brown, nearly anchor-shaped pubescent macula on circum-scutellar area; with light yellowish-brown pubescence laterally, nearly reaching middle of elytra, except white pubescent macula on humeral carina at anterior third; wide central area grayish-white pubescent, partially obscuring integument, almost reaching posterior third of elytra; with dense, irregular white pubescent macula dorsally about midlength of elytra; with grayish-white pubescence partially ob- scuring integument between humeral carina and lateral margin, from about middle to posterior quarter of elytra; with brownish pubescent spot centrally close to posterior margin of white pubescent macula; with elongate, dense pale-yellow pubescent band centrally, from brownish central spot to about base of posterior quarter of elytra; with slightly brownish pubescent band surrounding former band, posteriorly surpassing it and almost reaching lateral margin; with grayish-white pubescence centrally on distal fifth; remaining surface of distal half yellowish white.

Legs. Femora arched on peduncle, more so in mesofemora; apex of metafemora not surpassing elytral apex; dorsal and lateral surface of profemora with dense pale-yellow pubescence obscuring integument, but exposing punctures, and remaining surface with grayish-white pubescence not obscuring integument (distinctly sparser on peduncle); dorsal and outer surface of mesofemora with pale-yellow pubescence obscuring integument (distinctly sparser on peduncle), but exposing punctures, inner surface with grayish-white pubescence (distinctly sparser on peduncle) except yellowish-brown pubescent macula in center of club; metafemora with grayish-white pubescence not obscuring integument, yellower dorsally. Protibia with grayish-white pubescence partially obscuring integument; meso- and metatibiae with grayish-white pubescence partially obscuring integument except posterior quarter of mesotibiae with mostly dark pubescence, and narrow distal area of metatibiae with dark pubescence. Metatarsomere I grayishwhite pubescent, nearly obscuring integument dorsally and laterally except distal glabrous area.

Abdomen. Ventrites with grayish-white pubescence partially obscuring integument. Apex of ventrite V truncate.

Dimensions (mm). Total length, 10.75; prothoracic length, 1.90; anterior prothoracic width, 2.15; posterior prothoracic width, 2.40; maximum prothoracic width (between apex of lateral tubercles), 3.05; humeral width, 3.80; elytral length, 8.10.

Type material. Holotype male from PERU, La Libertad: Sánchez Carrión province (near El Pallar ; 2730 m; 7º42.57’S / 77º50.42’W), 25-26.XII.2016, V. Sinyaev col. ( MZSP). GoogleMaps

Remarks. Tropanisopodus antonkozlovi sp. nov. differs from T. andinus Tippmann, 1960 , and T. tachira Monné & Monné, 2007 ( Figs 1–6 View FIGURES 1–7. 1–6 ) by the absence of a lateral spine in the prothoracic tubercle (present in both other species), apex of the metafemora not surpassing elytral apex (surpassing elytral apex in males of both other species), and presence of a distinct longitudinal pale-yellow pubescent band on center of distal half of the elytra (absent in both other species).

Etymology. The species is named in honor of Anton O. Kozlov, who sent the specimen for study and donated the holotype to the MZSP collection.
