Current name: Afrogecko porphyreus ( Hewitt, 1935)

Holotype: PEM R16091 (formerly AMG 6943 ); Bitterfontein, Western Cape, South Africa; Mr. V.S. Peers; 28 August 1933. Remarks: Specimen in good condition, except for a longitudinal ventral incision.
