Current name: Pachydactylus rugosus Smith, 1849

Holotype: PEM R16066 (formerly AMG 6458 View Materials ); Heichamchab, Namibia; Mr. R.D. Bradfield, unknown date.

Remarks. Holotype with detached tail and ventral longitudinal incision. Hewitt also referred additional material (Kakamas—PEM R13004, R13449, R16063; Rietfontein—PEM R16067 and Oncep – PEM R16064) to the same species.
