Material examined

Holotype labelled O. proponens Ch. Type TC-623 (2099) and paratype TC-624 (2100). Solomons: Fulakora, Wainoni Bay (W. M. Mann).

Description of holotype

(Chamberlin’s data in parentheses where appropriate). Light brown, rst two and last two tergites brownish red (dark olive, the rst and several of the last reddish...). Length 65 mm. Head weakly punctate. Antennomeres 23 and 22, the latter may be regenerated (22), the basal two and a quarter glabrous (2).

Forcipular coxosternal tooth plate (gure 34) with three principal teeth on the left, the outer isolated from the inner two which are partially fused. With an outer and an inner subsidiary tooth on the right, giving ve on that side. Process of femoroid with three low inner teeth (gure 34).

Tergites marginate from 10 (11) with complete paramedian sutures from 7 (6) with a lateral furrow (gure 35) from 7 (one or two very low, broad keels just mesad of the margining sulcus). A median keel from 11. Tergites 6–21 with very ne spines (numerous minute points). Tergite 21 (gure 36) with median keel in anterior half, a longitudinal pit in posterior half.
