Lectotype (Alavi in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 107: 195. 1983): Herb. Linn. No. 1035.4 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Calendula Linnaeus (vide Steudel, Norn., ed. 2, 1: 256. 1840).

Current name: Calendula officinalis L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Ohle (in Feddes Repert. 85: 263. 1974) stated "Typus: Herbar. Linné (BM)" but this appears confused, and does not distinguish between several collections in the Clifford (BM) and Linnaean (LINN) herbaria.
