Diagnosis. This species differs from the closely related L. caudatus by the shining head and metasoma ( Figs 42, 44 View FIGURES 42 – 44 ); the swollen occiput; the nervellus broken at its middle; metasomal terga 3–5 are reddish ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 42 – 44 ). This species does not belong to the tripunctor species-group.

Description. Holotype female. Body size 4 mm. Antenna with 22 flagellomeres. Scape 0.65X as long as wide. Head not narrowed behind eyes, shining. Maximum length of temple 1.3X transverse eye diameter; minimal length of temple 0.5X transverse eye diameter. Face as wide as 1.1X height of eye; convex, with bulge ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 42 – 44 ). Clypeus separated from face by transverse impression; at apex projecting anteriorly; apical margin of clypeus moderately thick. Clypeal foveae not large. Malar space 0.7X basal mandible width. Occipital carina interrupted above. Lower mandible tooth longer than upper.

Mesosoma shining. Notaulus distinct. Mesopleuron and mesonotum smooth and shining. Claws pecinate. Fore wing with areolet not petiolate, large. Nervellus intercepted below middle. Nervulus interstitial. Propodeal carinae absent ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 42 – 44 ).

Metasoma rather shining, smooth. First metasomal tergum as long as wide apically, without median longitudinal impression; bordered by lateral longitudinal carinae; median longitudinal carinae absent. Ovipositor elongate, upcurved, as long as metasoma, with apical teeth, without subapical notch.

Color. Female. Body black ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 42 – 44 ), metasomal terga 3–5 reddish, tegulae and legs reddish-yellow ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 42 – 44 ).

Material. Holotype female, Tajikistan, Ramit, 6.vi.1982, S.A. Belokobylskij, ( ZIN RAS).

Distribution. Tajikistan

Etymology. The species epithet, ruficaudus , refers to the coloration of the metasoma.
