Distribution in Angola (Provinces): 1) LNO.

Historic records:

—Dundo (LNO) ( Gomes Alves 1959 and Ferreira 1965 sub Smaragdesthes africana Drury ).

Material examined: Angola, 1 ♀, Nº 1907 (blue label), nº 54 (white label), Crreeff leg. (label information), sub Heterorrhina africana Drury , old collection, box nº IX-78, MZUC .

Remarks. There are several subspecies in this taxon (e.g. 26 in Beinhundner 2017a), probably some of them without taxonomic value. The larva of the third instar of C. africana was described by Kühbander & Carl (1994). Ecological data were provided by Holm & Marais (1992) for C. africana subsuturalis (Kraatz, 1891) .
