( Figs. 17 View FIGURE 17 A–C, 20F, G)
Trouessartia stelgidopteryx Mironov and Overstreet, 2016: 4 , figs. 1–3.
Material examined. Holotype male ( BMOC 16-0825 - 29 ), 5 male and 6 female paratypes from Stelgidopteryx serripennis Newton , 1865 ( Passeriformes : Hirundinidae ), USA, Pennsylvania, Bedford County, Raystown Branch Juniata River near Saxton , 40°12ʹ1.80ʹʹN, 78°16ʹ28.24ʹʹW, 6 May 2001, coll. R. M. Overstreet; 3 males, 2 females ( ZISP 14233–14236 View Materials ), same host species, MEXICO, Morelos, Rio Apatlaco , 1 km S Xochitepec, 3 December 1948, coll. W.B. Davis; 2 males and 2 females ( ZISP 14229–14231 View Materials ) from S. ruficollis (Vieillot, 1817), TRINIDAD, Cumuto Road, 26 April 1960, coll. T.H.G. Aitken.
Trouessartia stelgidopteryx was originally described from Stelgidopteryx serripennis in Oregon, USA ( Mironov & Overstreet, 2016). We did not examine T. stelgidopteryx in Canada, but considering its association with swallows of the genus Stelgidopteryx and wide distribution of the type host throughout North America, its presence in Canada is expected.
