Trouessartia ripariae Mironov, 1983: 366 , figs. 2c, 4; Gaud & Atyeo 1987: 378, figs. 1h, 2h, 4h, 5h.
Material examined. 8 males, 8 females (ZISP 7500–7515) from Riparia riparia (Linnaeus, 1758) ( Passeriformes : Hirundinidae ), CANADA, Manitoba, Oak Hammock Marsh, 2008, coll. T.D. Galloway and S.R. Repa.
Trouessartia ripariae is known exclusively from the sand martin, Riaparia riparia View in CoL , throughout most of its range in both hemispheres. Originally this mite species was described from the European part of Russia ( Mironov 1983); further, it was recorded on this host in northern Africa ( Morocco, Ethiopia), eastern and South East Asia ( Japan, Malesia, Thailand) and in North America ( USA, Canada) ( Gaud & Atyeo 1987; Galloway et al. 2014).
