Neocentema Schinz View in CoL

The genus Neocentema was described by Schinz (1911: 248–249), who listed the following two species: N. alternifolia ( Schinz 1896: 419) Schinz (1911: 249) , and N. robecchii ( Lopriore 1900: 60) Schinz (1911: 249) . These names are generic syntypes. Neocentema is currently accepted as separated taxon at genus rank (see Hernández-Ledesma et al. 2015: 305) and it comprises these two African species as reported by Schinz (1911: 249) (see e.g., Townsend 1985, 1993).

Townsend (1985: 40) reported a specimen preserved at Z as holotype (“Type: Tanzania, S. Masai steppe, Stuhlmann 4287 (H, holo.!)”), also indicating a isotype from M. According to the Art. 9.9 (see Ex. 10), the Towsend’s choice and use of holotype / isotype is an error to be corrected as lectotype / isolectotype.
