Taxonomy. Eumops wilsoni R. J. Baker et al., 2009 , “ Ecuador, Guayas, Bosque Protector Cerro Blanco, Centro de Visitantes ( 02° 10°47.6 ”S, 80°01 °’17.7”W, 22 m elevation.” Eumops wilsoni was recently separated from FE. glaucinus based on genetic data, butit is morphologically indistinguishable from E. ferox . Monotypic.

Distribution. Known only from four localities in SW Ecuador ( Guayas Province including Puna I) and NW Peru ( Lambayeque Department). View Figure

Descriptive notes. Head-body 67-84 mm, tail 45-46 mm, ear 22-24 mm, hindfoot 8-13 mm, forearm 56-60 mm; weight 24-32 g. See general characteristics of the genus under the Black Bonneted Bat ( E. auripendulus ). Wilson’s Bonneted Bat has dark brown dorsal fur, and venter is paler, with hairs having whitish bases. Tragus is small, with blunt tip. Chromosomal complement has 2n = 38 and FN = 54.

Habitat. Dry forest.

Food and Feeding. Wilson's Bonneted Bat is an insectivore.

Breeding. No information.

Activity patterns. Wilson’s Bonneted Bat has been found roosting in a church in Peru.

Movements, Home range and Social organization. No information.

Status and Conservation. Classified as Data Deficient on The IUCN Red Last.
